The bay window offers visitors expansive views of the wonderful Shropshire Hills, with their glorious sunrises as well as the star-filled skies at night. Ideally situated for exploring the historic towns of Ludlow, Shrewsbury and Ironbridge along with the many castles in the area. The Welsh Marches, with their beautiful scenery have been designated one of the Tranquil Areas of Britain by the Council for the Preservation of Rural England and the Countryside Commission. Here buzzards and kites soar overhead by day and owls by night and the haunting cry of curlews can be heard as they fly over during Spring and Summer.
There are several unspoilt country pubs close by that are accessible to wheelchairs and in nearby Bishop’s Castle you can sample the award winning beers from the two micro breweries. A well-stocked and friendly Village Shop, Off Licence and PO is less than a mile away, along quiet country lanes. If you require a larger shop there is a supermarket just a few miles away at Churchstoke. You will find many thoughtful details at The Byre from books and games to a welcome pack of milk, butter, tea, coffee and our own free-range eggs when available.
